It was the first transit system created under a state law allowing suburban cities to establish their own transit programs. Plymouth Metrolink was established in 1984 by the City of Plymouth. Plymouth Metrolink provides about half a million rides each year through three types of service: express buses to downtown Minneapolis, reverse Commuter service from Minneapolis to Plymouth, and Click-and-Ride service to local destinations. We also participate in the regional Guaranteed Ride Home Program which provides vouchers for a free bus ride or cab fare if you need emergency transportation home.
